Centralia woman, 26, killed in suspected DUI crash near Copalis Beach

COPALIS BEACH, WA – A Hoquiam man suspected of DUI killed a passenger in his vehicle when he crashed in Grays Harbor County early this morning, according to a report by KOMO News.

The accident happened around 12:45 a.m. on State Route 109, near Copalis Beach.

A Nissan Sentra driven by a 27-year-old man from Hoquiam ran off the roadway and crashed into several trees.

Killed in the car-totaling crash was 26-year-old passenger Meaghann C. Price Shipe, of Centralia, who was declared dead at the scene of the accident.

The driver was injured in the accident and taken to the hospital for treatment. He was later released and then taken into custody in the Grays Harbor County Jail on charges of vehicular homicide.

According to investigators, drugs and/or alcohol played a part in the accident.
