Burlington, Washington – Car Driver Killed in Collision with Train

Burlington, Washington (December 27, 2019) – The driver of a car was killed after colliding with a moving train on State Route 20 at Garrett Road on early Friday evening. The victim has been identified as Christopher Brock. No other injuries were reported in the incident.

According to information from the Washington State Patrol and Skagit County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 5 p.m. Deputies from the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office were trying to stop Brock for traffic violations when he turned onto Garrett Road. The collision caused Brock’s vehicle to be dragged for about a mile to Avon-Allen Road. The car also caught on fire in the incident. The incident is being investigated by the Washington State Patrol.
