SEATTLE, WA – A house fire in the Beacon Hill neighborhood early yesterday morning caused a 15-year-old boy to sustain life-threatening injuries, according to KING 5.

The fire began in the basement of the home at about 4 a.m., then spread to the upper levels.

Family members who initially escaped the blaze told firefighters that a person was still inside. When emergency officials investigated, they discovered a 15-year-old boy with critical injuries on the second floor of the home.

The teenager was taken to Harborview hospital for treatment.

Three other people were treated at the scene for non-critical wounds.

The fire remains under investigation at this time.
